LAKOTA INVITATIONAL

SATURDAY AUGUST 24th, 2024

The cross country season has officially kicked off with our opening meet at VOA Park for the Lakota Classic. Things heated up fast, but the Panthers stayed in control.


The boys varsity team finished with a strong 2nd place finish, with a close 2 point difference to Loveland. Leading the way, race winner, Sammie Darmanie. Following, was a tight pack of Panthers! The top 7 all ran under 17, a first for our team as a season opener. Great job to everyone!


The boys junior varsity race saw a near perfect score. Winning the race was another Panther, sophomore, Eli Brandon with a time of 17:55. In the top 6 finishers were FIVE Springboro Panthers.


At the start of the season, 15 boys hit new career bests and many more just seconds away. What a way to start the season. You can see all of the results at FINISHTIMING!


The girls varsity finished 7th overall with Ella Smith finishing with a 9th place finish overall. The girls finished with 2 career bests and are ready to tackle Hot summer bash!


The girls junior varsity team finished 4th overall, with Abi Westnedge finishing top 11 for the Panthers. The girls battled the heat and set to have a great start at Hot Summer Bash!


The highlight of the meet was Sammie Darmanie winning his first XC meet of the season in a time of 15:27, beating his previous best from the 2024 season. Sammie confidently took the lead early in the race and maintained his composure throughout. Sammie’s time puts him as the 3rd fastest Panther and 3rd fastest senior season time in school history.


Making their mark as well was Nolan Hicks with a 16:39, giving him the 6th fastest time for sophomores. Nick Beatty, just behind in 16:41 for the 7th fastest sophomore time. To think that wasn’t enough, Ella Smith debuted her sophomore season with a time of 19:26, placing 9th overall in the race and putting her 7th overall in the top 10 of girls best times.

HOT SUMMER BASH

SATURDAY AUGUST 31st, 2024

HOT SUMMER BASH TESTS SPRINGBORO’S EARLY SEASON FITNESS


The HOT SUMMER Bash tests Springboro’s early fitness against the best in the state. Samuel Darmanie kept it tight from the beginning finishing 3rd overall in the early season test. He finished 15:21, surpassing Chad Balyo’s all time school record. Sammie is now 2nd overall in the Springboro Record Books. The boys team finished 8th overall with an Ohio-elite line up.


The girls finished 12th overall with a great performance from Ellie Fuller, who put her summer training on the line with a big personal best for the season and finishing 37th overall in a big field!


The team heads to the Mason Invitational this coming weekend at Mason High School.

GIRLS VARSITY


The girls varsity team finished 12th at the HOT SUMMER BASH. The team was led by Ellie Fuller with Ella Smith closely behind with 8 girls running their seasonal best. The girls continue to push themselves and are looking to keep moving forward in the races.


BOYS VARSITY


The boys finished 8th overall, they held on, after a quick start from the field. Sammie held with the front pack early on and maintained his composure throughout the race. The boys worked together, unable to establish position early on. They continue to improve their race strategy and look forward to competing at the Springboro Invitational.


GIRLS 9/10


The girls 9/10 Junior Varsity finished 4th overall with Aditi Bhat finishing 17th overall with over a 1 minute off from her previous race! The 9-10 girls held on and pushed their pace throughout the race. TWENTY girls finished with a seasonal and career best with a three minute average improvement from the Lakota Invitatioal!


BOYS 9/10


The boys finished 3rd overall with big finishes by the top 3 to place in the top 20. Paxton Dreyer finished 9th overall with a personal best time of 17:30, and just behind, 10th overall, Eli Brandon and Josh Linde, 16th. They boys started strong and maintained their effort throughout the race.


GIRLS 11/12


The girls finished 9th overall with Ellie Sietz being the first Panther crossing the line. Ten of the eleven girls racing had a seasonal best on the day!


BOYS 11/12


The boys finished 6th overall with Drew Koesters meddling with a6th place finish! After a tough start at Lakota, Drew regrouped and controlled his race, sticking up front throughout. Will Schemenauer also medaled, finishing 20th overall as well.

MASON INVITATIONAL

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 7th, 2024


The 50th annual Mason Invite brought great weather and great races. The varsity girls finished 7th overall with Ella Smith finishing 8th overall out of 125 runners. Just behind and also medaling was Ellie Fuller 11th, overall.


The girls junior varsity race saw a great pack run by our Panthers finishing 3rd as a team. Six girls finished in the top 20 with Maria Hollon 13th, Anna Ho, 15th, Julia Balgac, 16th, Ella Hollander 17th, Britain Parkin 18th, and Isabel Cherry 19th.


Johnny Marusko was the top finisher for the boys, setting his career best in the varsity race. The boys finished 12th overall. 


The boys junior varsity team finished 7th overall with Spencer Elliot as the top Boro boy of the race!


Congratulations to all our athletes this weekend. The team is at HOME this weekend. The races begin at 9AM and help cheer on your hometown team.

SPRINGBORO INVITATIONAL

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 14th, 2024


Our 2nd annual invitational at our Home Course saw a great amount of competition and great results. There were 45 athletes with a seasonal or personal best! The team heads to GWOC rival, Kettering, this coming weekend. Come out to Indian Riffle Park, the action begins at 8:30AM!


GIRLS VARSITY


Ella Smith led the way with a seasonal best and 5th place finish. Just behind, Elliot Fuller with a career best ran 8th overall. The girls finished 2nd overall behind a strong Loveland Team. Helping the Panthers by scoring included Paige Cucchetti, 15th, Evie Widjaja, 21st, and Amelia Marusko, 24th.


BOYS VARSITY


The boys finished 2nd overall just behind Covington Catholic of Kentucky. The race was a tight competition and your Panthers held off Loveland for a 2nd time by 1 point. Your top finisher for the Panthers was Sammie Darmanie, 2nd overall. Declan Rhoden nearby at 10th place and also medaling, with a career best was Quinn Harty, 14th. Also scoring included Nolan Hicks, 18th, and Max Gerstner, 20th.


GIRLS OPEN


Your lady Panthers owned the day for the open race with 8 Panthers, claiming a medal and 15 Panthers in the top 25. Your race champion, freshman, Ella Hollander, finished with a career best of 22:14 with senior Bella Ortiz just behind. 3rd overall in the race, Britain Parkin. Also earning a medal included, Izzy Cherry, 5th, Elise Jaynes, 7th, Erin Duck, 8th, Aivree Green, 11th, and Aly Rhodes, 12th. For many, this race was the best of the season! Way to go girls!


BOYS OPEN


The Panthers rocked the boys open with a 32 point team finish claiming 1st place just ahead of a strong Elder Team. Gavin Harty, Freshman, finished 2nd overall with a time of 18:02. Just behind in 3rd place, senior Will Schemenauer.  Also placing for the Panthers included, Luis Ronquillo, 5th, and Evan Beatty, 6th. Issac Kastl had a career day, closing the win for the Panthers. Great job to all of our boys on a great race!



All teams will be taking on Kettering this coming weekend! Come out before you prep up for Homecoming night!

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21st, 2024

KETTERING INVITATIONAL


The defending champions returned to Kettering and maintained their reign this past weekend in Kettering Ohio. The boys teams claimed all three 1st place wins. The girls teams finished with two 2nd place runner ups and a 3rd place team finish. The course was hot, but the teams fought every mile to bring home some hardware. During the race, many athletes made great pushes in the final 1k of the race to knock off their opponents. Athletes had to control their start as the temperatures kept rising throughout the morning. 


GIRLS VARSITY


Ella Smith finished 2nd overall in the race, helping her team finish 2nd behind Oakwood. The team had a strong start and held off Seton by 3 points. Medaling for the Panthers included Ellie Fuller 6th and Paige Cucchetti, 15th, and Evie Widjaja, 20th.


BOYS VARSITY


The boys team finished as Champions in the varsity race. This is their 3rd year in a row for winning the meet. Sammie Darmanie finished 1st overall in the field. The boys ran strong as a pack throughout the race. Medaling for the boys included Nicholas Beatty 11th, Nolan Hicks 12th, and Declan Rhoden 15th.


GIRLS VARSITY B


The lady Panthers finished 2nd overall in the Silver race on Saturday, scoring for the ladies was our top finisher, Anna Ho, 6th place. Britain Parkin also medaled with a 12th place finish and Aditi Bhat 17th.


BOYS VARSITY B


The boys varsity B ran a great last mile to secure the win over Elder. Josh Linde led the way with a 4th place finish. Five Panthers finished in the top 20 of the race. Will Schemenauer finished 7th, Drew Koesters, 9th, Gavin Harty, 10th, and Evan Beatty 15th.


GIRLS OPEN


The girls finished 3rd overall, just short of Walnut Hills. Adeline Miller capped the race for Springboro with a 6th place finish. Also medaling for the Panthers included Phoebe Hamant, 12th, and Emma Miller 19th.


BOYS OPEN


The boys races finished with Springboro on top again, with a close 3 point win over Elder. This race remained tight the whole way. Spencer Elliot had a season best race and finished 3rd overall. Close behind was Justin Caldwell, 4th, Miles Pritchett, 6th, Ben Pfoutz, 17th, Isaac Topping 18th, and Javin Cayaditto, 20th. Great race!


The teams are heading to Olentangy for the Berlin Bear Dash! This is Springboro’s first trip to Olentangy and is looking for a great race!

BERLIN BEAR DASH

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 28th, 2024

Berlin Bear Dash


Springboro traveled to Olentangy for their first experience at the Berlin Bear Den Dash. The rain stayed away for our runners as they traversed the slick course. The team left with over 30 career bests, new varsity time standards, and some of their best finishes of the season. The teams now have their sights set on GWOC in two weeks!


Girls Varsity


The girls came out with a strong performance today finishing 13th as a team. Ella Smith was our top performer, 24th place, with a time of 19:01 and taking her to 5th all time sophomore in Springboro. Close behind was Ellie Fuller making the top 50 of the stacked girls race. The top 5 included Evie Widjaja, Paige Cucchetti, and Amelia Marusko.


BOYS VARSITY


The boys placed 7th overall against a tough field of 25 Columbus teams. Sammie Darmanie held for a 6th place finish in a spectacular field. He improved on his time to being 2 seconds away from the school record.  The boys hit a great stride towards the finish with numerous personal records along the way. Quinn Harty moved up 22 places at the end of the race for a Springboro Sophomore 4th overall record, Max Gerstner finished with a top 5 all time Springboro Sophomore record, Nolan Hicks with a 6th overall Springboro Sophomore record, and Nicholas Beatty, with a new time making him the the 9th overall fastest Springboro Sophomore. Great job to all our athletes competing!


GIRLS VARSITY B


The girls varsity team finished with a strong 4th place overall. Ella Hollander, Britain Parkin, and Anno Ho finished consecutively, helping the girls score low. Close behind was Maria Hollon and Abi Westnedge to complete the top 5 scorers.


BOYS VARSITY B


Boys varsity B put the medal to the pedal so to speak with huge performances. Johnnie Marusko finished 8th overall for Springboro. Just behind was Braeden Ulrich, 17th, place and medaling was Josh Linde, 18th and making to the Springboro Record board as the 6th fastest Freshman! Eli Brandon, Paxton Dreyer, and Gavin Harty all pushed in to complete the pack shortly behind,,.


GIRLS OPEN


The girls last race of the day ended on a high note, with a 4th place team finish. Elise Jaynes led the way with an 8th place finish. Placing in the top 50 included Ally Rhodes and Taylor Larsen. The race featured a lot of personal bests and great finishes!


BOYS 9/10


The underclassmen finished 7th overall. Leading the Panthers was Spencer Elliot, finishing 25th place. The boys had multiple career bests and finished with huge closing splits.


BOYS 11/12


The upperclassmen junior varsity boys finished 6th overall, led by Luis Ronquillo Hernandez, who placed 17th. Close behind was Jackson Hamant, Justin Caldwell, and Jace Hoskins in the top 30.

GWOC CHAMPIONSHIP

SATURDAY OCTOBER 12th, 2024


GWOC CONFERENCE RESULTS


This weekend, the GWOC assembled for their conference championships. The boys and girls teams fought hard at Northmont. The boys team finished 3rd overall in the varsity race. The girls team finished 4th overall in the varsity race. In the open race, the boys team finished as junior varsity champions and the girls finished 2nd overall.


Ella Smith, sophomore, finished as your GWOC champion placing 1st overall. Ella started off strong and held the lead the whole race. Also finishing 1st team GWOC was Ellie Fuller, 4th, overall and 2nd team GWOC was Paige Cucchetti, 15th overall.


Sammie Darmanie finished 3rd overall with 1st team GWOC awards. Also placing was Nicholas Beatty, 2nd team GWOC, 17th, and Quinn Harty, 2nd Team GWOC, 19th.


During  the boys junior varsity race, 5 boys finished in the top 20. Eli Brandon, sophomore, was your race winner, holding on the whole third mile.  Drew Koesters took 6th overall; Gavin Harty finished 7th,  Will Schemenauer finished 9th, and Evan Beatty, 10th overall. The boys made big moves in the last 1000 meters of the race to move Centerville and Beavercreek back.


The girls 2nd place junior varsity finish was lead by 6th place finisher Maria Hollon who had to fight off a swarm of Beavercreek girls. Close behind was Abi Westnedge at 13th place, Izzy Cherry 14th overall and Elise Jaynes at 17th.


Great job to all of our athletes this season.
